The WotWots have come from outer space in their steam-powered spaceship to explore and marvel at the extraordinary diverse life on Earth.

In season one of the television series, SpottyWot and DottyWot arrive in the middle of a zoo and in the second season, they land on a farm and meet strange and friendly farm animals as well as travel to the seashore.

Owned and produced by Pukeko Pictures the puppet-like WotWots characters were designed by Weta Workshop (Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit trilogy, King Kong Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man 3, Godzilla). A bespoke animation facility was set up by Pukeko Pictures under the Weta Workshop company umbrella and the live action sequences were shot on location at Wellington Zoo, with subsequent footage shot at Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney Zoos. Locations for season two were shot at various beach and farms around New Zealand.

Kiddets, a sister show to The WotWots is in Production. Kiddets is the first television official co-production between New Zealand and China. Pukeko Pictures will co-produce with Guangdong Huawen Century Animation Company.


The WotWots has aired in 100+ territories around the world including The Hub, Netflix, Hulu and Comcast in the U.S as well as on ABCKIDS in Australia, and TVNZ in New Zealand.
